Coaching shouldn't be gatekept by income

Our academic desk has always held one position: the best students in Bhiwandi deserve the best coaching, regardless of their family's income. At Vision Institute, we actively keep approximately 15 per cent of every NEET / JEE / MHT-CET batch on some form of scholarship. This is not charity. It is a deliberate investment in raising the overall academic ecosystem of Bhiwandi.

The Vision Institute Merit Scholarship (VIMS)

An annual written test held in April, open to all Class 10 pass and Class 11 pass students. Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Maths (depending on stream), Reasoning. Duration: 2 hours. Scholarships range from 25 per cent to 75 per cent fee waiver based on test rank.

Top scorer receives a full 100 per cent waiver for the 2-year NEET or JEE programme. The test is genuinely merit-based — no interview, no discretion. Your rank is your scholarship.

The Vision Need-Based Scholarship (VNS)

For families whose annual household income is below ₹3 lakhs, we offer need-based scholarships of 30–50 per cent. The process is respectful and confidential — a short income-declaration, one parent-meeting, and an academic diagnostic. No public disclosures, no parade.

The Alumni Siblings Discount

Younger siblings of our alumni (current or past) receive a 15 per cent fee waiver across all programmes. This is our way of saying thank you to families who continue to trust us across multiple children.

External government schemes worth knowing

Maharashtra Minorities Scholarship: for eligible minority community students, covering tuition-like fees.

Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST/OBC): Maharashtra Social Welfare Department.

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE): for Class 10 toppers — a monthly stipend up to PhD.

INSPIRE scholarship: for science stream students pursuing natural sciences.

Our admission office can guide eligible students through the documentation of these external schemes.

A realistic word on fees

We will not hide the fact that good coaching costs money. Quality faculty, classrooms, study material, test-series software, doubt-cell infrastructure — these are real costs. But we also refuse to inflate fees with fake 'discount' theatrics. Our published fee is our real fee; our published scholarship is our real scholarship.

Preparing for the VIMS (Vision Institute Merit Scholarship) test

The VIMS test is held annually in April. It is a 2-hour, 100-question paper covering Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Maths (depending on stream), English, and Reasoning.

Ideal preparation: 60 days of focused revision of 10th-standard syllabus (for incoming Class 11 students) or 11th-standard syllabus (for incoming Class 12 students). Practice at least 5 full-length mock papers in the week before the test.

Weightage: Maths ~25, Science ~35, English ~15, Reasoning ~25. A student scoring 70+ typically secures a 25% waiver; 80+ secures 50%; 90+ secures 75%; 95+ secures a 100% waiver.

Documentation checklist for need-based scholarships

What you'll need: latest 2 years of Income Tax Returns (or salary slips for last 6 months), a brief family-income declaration form, Aadhaar card of both parents, the student's Class 10 mark-sheet, and one photograph.

Assessment is via one in-person meeting with the academic head (not financial discussion, just verification). Decisions are communicated within 10 working days. Confidentiality is strict — no other student or parent is informed about scholarship awards.

External government scholarships — step-by-step

Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship (for SC/ST/OBC/SBC students): apply online via the Maharashtra Directorate of Social Welfare portal in July-September. Required: caste certificate, income certificate, Aadhaar, 10th mark-sheet.

Minorities Scholarship (Maharashtra State Minority Commission): apply July-October. Required: minority community certificate, income certificate, bank details.

NTSE Stage 2 awardees: monthly stipend continuing through to PhD. Apply via NCERT for Stage 2 after clearing Stage 1 in Class 10.

Our admission desk guides eligible students through each of these applications — call +91 8446167765 for personalised guidance.

Scholarships after joining — continuation criteria

A merit scholarship is awarded at admission time but is also continuation-reviewed every 6 months. To retain the scholarship, students must maintain ≥75% attendance and score ≥70% in internal Vision Institute mocks.

If performance drops below these thresholds, a 'scholarship review' meeting is held with student and parents. In most cases, support is continued with a short remedial plan. In exceptional cases, the scholarship can be reduced — but we share this possibility upfront at admission.

Real stories of scholarship students from our batches

Anonymised examples. Student A from Diwanshah Dargah joined our NEET 2-year programme with a 75% VIMS waiver. Scored 598 in NEET 2024 — currently at a Maharashtra government medical college.

Student B from Gaibinagar, single-parent household, received a 50% need-based scholarship. Joined MHT-CET 2-year, scored 99.2 percentile — currently at SPIT Mumbai.

Student C from Kudus, alumni-sibling discount of 15%, completed JEE 2-year programme at Vision. Scored 99.6 percentile in JEE Main, AIR 8,200 in Advanced — currently at IIT Indore.

These are not outliers. We have dozens of similar stories. Scholarship support is a structural feature of our institute, not charity we do occasionally.
